In graphic surveillance footage, a Maryland woman is seen ramming her husband with her SUV, killing him. She was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in what’s being called a tough case for the jury.
Jurors convicted 38-year-old Araceli Alvarez Mendoza of involuntary manslaughter in the August 2015 SUV versus pedestrian killing of her husband, Fernando Fragoso-Duana, on Seabrook Road in Lanham, Maryland near their home. The woman’s husband was pinned between the vehicle and a tree and died from traumatic injuries.
Prince George’s County prosecutor said Alvarez-Mendoza testified that her marriage was frequently violent, but police had never been called.
