Arlington International Racecourse gates open for horseracing at 1 p.m. for a full day of racing (first post at 3 p.m.). Fireworks at dusk. Dave Tamkin & Co. plays live music 4-9 p.m. on the Miller Lite Band Stage. Wayne Messmer will sing the national anthem before the fireworks; more musical entertainment from the dueling pianos of Felix & Fingers.
Buffalo Grove Fireworks Monday July 4, 2016

Buffalo Grove fireworks follow a two-hour concert by the Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band at the Buffalo Grove Rotary Green. Fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m.
Viewing areas include the BG Rotary Green, the Buffalo Grove Golf Course or Willow Stream Park. Another common gathering place for excellent viewing of the Buffalo Grove from a medium distance and all of Chicagoland fireworks from a distance is Peyton Hill at Nickol Knoll Park near Kennicott Avenue and Happfield Drive Arlington Heights (LIVE TRAFFIC MAP).

Fireworks are launched in Melas Park, where there is a large viewing area. Many people also view the fireworks along Northwest Highway, but don’t stand near the railroad tracks just south of Northwest Highway. These are the fireworks people can see behind the Main Stage at Frontier Days.

Palatine is celebrating a 150th birthday in 2016, so the Independence Day fireworks promise to be special. The fireworks go off at dusk on Sunday, July 3, at Hometown Fest, which runs through Monday, July 4, with entertainment, food vendors, a carnival and more.

Run & Rock the Runway features an evening of food trucks, a beer tent, live music, face painters, an aircraft display and fireworks on Sunday, July 3, at Chicago Executive Airport. The party starts at 5 p.m. and the band “Midnight” is on the Main Stage from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. “HiFi Superstar” follows from 8:15-10:30 p.m., with a break for fireworks.
