Skokie police responded about 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday July 13, 2016 to a report of a home invasion, vehicle burglaries and garage burglaries. First found a man rifling through personal items in her bedroom. Soon neighbors realized six people breaking into vehicles and garages near Harvard Terrace and Park Avenue.
One neighbor saw the offenders flee in the woman’s white Nissan Pathfinder (license # H595187) after the home invasion. The neighbor called police.
A red minivan was also stolen, and the offender driving the minivan slammed into a Skokie police car that was responding to the home invasion call. The female police officer was injured and transported to a nearby hospital and released.
Three suspects were arrested, but at least three offenders are at large.
Police discovered the crime spree involving the six suspects ranged from north suburban Skokie to the South Side of Chicago.
Skokie police urge citizens with information about the crime to call Skokie Police at 847-982-5900.
