Zion police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:16 PM Monday to a report of shooting victim that was actually a stabbing victim at the Mobil gas station, 2500 Sheridan Road Zion, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a battery victim walked into the Mobil gas station and was having a seizure. A 9-1-1 caller reported in an update that the victim had been shot. Police and firefighter/paramedics discovered a male victim stabbed in the chest, unconscious and not breathing.
No gunshot wounds were discovered. The 21-year-old male victim was transported to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan where he was pronounced dead.
The victim was identified as Nathaniel Lang, whose latest known address was in Zion, according to Lake County Chief Deputy Coroner Orlando Portillo, An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday morning.
Police were looking for suspect with green hair or with a green shirt last seen on a bicycle westbound corrected to eastbound on Shiloh Boulevard. Zion police reported on male, age 21, in custody early Tuesday with no charges immediately filed.
