UPDATE: Charles Kleffner died in his pickup truck after his pickup truck hit several motorcyclists head-on and caught fire. Kleffner possibly had a medical issue before the crash.
Motorcyclist Matthew Stautz, age 43, of Rothschild, Wisconsin, was pronounced dead at Centegra McHenry Medical Center after transport to the hospital. Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team is investigating the crash.

Initially there was a report of a pickup truck that hit 4 or 5 motorcycles with a truck on top of one of the motorcyclists.
Fox Lake police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:11 PM Saturday to a report of crash with fire and injuries on State Park Road at 6800 State Park Road Fox Lake, Il. A crash Saturday afternoon possibly involved more than 5 motorcycles. Witnesses at the scene described that the driver of the pickup truck possibly had a medical problem that caused him to cross the centerline and hit a group of motorcyclists head-on. A witness also reported that one of the motorcyclists had a severed leg from the crash.
Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a pickup truck hit 4 or 5 motorcycles and resulted in the pickup truck on top of one of the motorcyclists.
Fire/Medic units, while responding by 3:13 p.m., received a report that one victim was suffering from an amputation and that a vehicle was on fire.
BC22 requested Flight for Life Status.
Flight for Life status was available.
E224’s crew on arrival by 3:16 p.m. reported multiple people on the ground, a fully-involved pickup truck fire, and that the crew is bringing a hose line to the fire
Dispatch reported to the arriving units by 3:16 p.m. that there was possibly still a victim inside one of the vehicles — apparently the pickup truck.
BC22 requested Flight for Life by 3:20 p.m. A Landing Zone was setup behind Liquor Hole at State Park Rd and Country Club Hills Drive.
BC22 requested an ambulance from Antioch and Lake Villa, and an engine from McHenry by 3:21 p.m.
District 21, Antioch E213 was assigned to manage the Flight for Life Landing Zone by 3:23 p.m.
The Lake County Coroner was requested by 3:25 p.m.
Fox Lake A222 was en route to the Landing Zone with a patient by 3:32 p.m. and at the Landing Zone by 3:34 p.m.
Saturday afternoon there was no confirmation whether Flight for Life transported a patient or not.
