Rollover Crash Route 53 and Rand Road, Palatine Arlington Heights
Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics and Illinois State Police responded about 4:47 PM Tuesday to a report of crash with injuries at Route 53 and Route 12 Palatine, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that light pole was down on the offramp from northbound Route 53 to Route 12.
The first crew on arrival reported a vehicle on its roof.
Arlington Heights Ambulance 2’s crew was called back to the scene for an injured person that had walked away from the scene.
A witness reported a male driver was weaving in traffic and drove on the shoulder of Route 53 at 80-90mph and spun out on the ramp and hit the pole sideways. The ramp was full of cars. Another witness reported seeing female occupants leaving the scene and walking west on Rand Road after the crash.
