UPDATE: Witnesses reported seeing a black Chevrolet Impala with tinted windows exit at a high rate of speed from the Iverleith apartment complex at 525 North Quentin Road, where there was possibly an undercover police operation. According to witness reports, undercover police officers or people who identified themselves as police officers shot at the black Impala as it attempted to run over the people identifying themselves as police officers. The driver and/or occupants of the Impala apparently arrived at 1469 North Winslowe Drive, where an ambulance was called for emergency medical help for a man who was shot near his knee.
Palatine police have not released any details about the encounter.

Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:48 PM Thursday to a report of a police officer shot at Inverleith Apartments, 525 North Quentin Road Palatine, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a police officer was shot. Initially there was a request for two ambulances at the scene.

The second ambulance responding to the Quentin Road scene was returned by Palatine Fire Department SQD85.
