Lake County Sheriff’s deputies and Lake Zurich firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:38 AM Thursday to a report of a motorcycle crash with injuries at 42.157612, -88.043848 (Route 12 And Plum Grove Rd Kildeer-Unincorporated Palatine, Il). Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a motorcycle was down.
A crash involved a motorcycle on Route 12, just north of Plum Grove near unincorporated Palatine and Kildeer. A white pickup truck and a black Ford Mustang were also on the crash scene.
The crash possibly occurred on eastbound (southbound) lanes of US 12 just west (north) of Plum Grove Road. The motorcycle was down on the median.
Lake Zurich’s Engine 4 crew on arrival reported a pickup truck on the scene with a motorcycle still on the ground at 5:45 am.
The motorcyclist was transported and en route in Lake Zurich Ambulance 4 to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge by about 6:00 am. The motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries.
Eastbound (southbound) US 12 was totally shut down, and westbound (northbound) US 12 was down to one lane.
US 12 was reopened about 8:45 am Thursday morning.
