Gurnee police responded Wednesday afternoon, June 8, 2016 responded to a report that a 16-year-old boy was hit by a car while skateboarding at Old Grand Avenue and O’Plaine Road in Gurnee. Police have determined that the boy was struck by the car intentionally in what is described as a hit-and-run.
The teenager was treated on the scene for minor scrapes after he was stuck by a vehicle that was described as a dark-colored newer model 4-door vehicle — possibly a Ford Five Hundred, according to Gurnee police.
The vehicle and offending male driver were last seen eastbound on Old Grand Avenue from O’Plaine Road.
The vehicle was also possibly occupied by a male passenger.
A witness told police that the vehicle appeared to hit the boy intentionally, Meyer said.
