Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi discusses what is happening on the ground in Orlando, Florida, in the aftermath of the Pulse nightclub massacre that left 49 dead.
CNN’s Anderson Cooper relayed a message from gay and lesbian people, who Cooper said are not fans of Pam Bondi. He said that he was just reflecting what a lot of people were telling him — that accused Bondi of being a hypocrite. Cooper pointed out the difficulty of gay and lesbian boyfriends and girlfriends would have had difficulty getting information or even visit them in the hospital if gay marriage hadn’t been legalized. Bondi replied that they are going one step further now — trying to assist partners that aren’t married get information.
Anderson then said he has never really seen Bondi talk about gays, and lesbians, and transgender people in a positive way until now. Cooper said he reviewed Bondi’s Twitter for the last year and saw Tweets about National Dog Month and other animal activists promotions, but that she never tweeted about Gay Pride Month. Bondi repled that they just put up a banner of people holding hands in rainbow colors. Cooper countered, “So you just put that up now.”
