A Thai man is recovering in hospital after a routine visit to the bathroom became a tug of war when he was attacked by a snake while sitting on the toilet.
Attaporn Boonmakchuay was sitting on the toilet when a nine-foot python slithered up through the plumbing and bit him on the penis, triggering an excruciating half-hour tug of war.
Boonmakchuay’s neighbor came to assist him with a rope and a knife but, the struggle ended when the python momentarily lost strength and the victim managed to pry open the snake’s jaws.
Doctors say 38-year-old Attaporn Boonmakchuay — a resident of Chachoengsao province, near Bangkok, suffered an 8 inches wound which needed stitches. Doctor expect he will make a full recovery, but are concerned about possible infection.
Rescue workers removed the python from the toilet, using hammers to break the piping, which finally released the snake.
