McHenry County Sheriff’s deputies and Hebron-Alden-Greenwood Fire Protection District firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:53 p.m. Sunday to a hit-and-run crash at Route 47 and O’Brien Road about 1.5 miles south of Hebron, Illinois. One patient was transported by ambulance to Centegra Hospital-Woodstock. One patient was transported by REACT/Air Methods helicopter to Rockford Memorial Hospital (not confirmed). Woodstock firefighter/paramedics and MD-1 — an emergency medicine physician-staffed and equipped unit from Mercy Walworth Hospital and Medical Center, Lake Geneva — also responded to the scene.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a motorcycle was traveling southbound on Route 47 and an unknown white work van with a ladder rack carrying red ladders either pulled in front of the motorcycle or struck the motorcycle somehow. The driver of the unknown white work van did not stop, and continued westbound on O’Brien Road in the direction of Harvard, Illinois. The white work van may have damage to the front passenger side.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Department is investigating to confirm that hit-and-run crash occurred, and is seeking the driver of the white work van for questioning.

McHenry County Sheriff’s Office urges any citizen with information about the crash or the white work van to contact the McHenry County Sheriff’s office to call 815-338-2144.
