Harvey police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:46 PM Thursday to a fire in a shopping center at Plaza Harvey, 196 East 154th Street Harvey, Il. Firefighter/paramedics from Harvey Fire Department called for mutual aid assistance from area fire departments Thursday afternoon when a fire broke out at Harvey Plaza and City Sports locations.
Firefighters from Chicago, Thornton, South Holland, Tinley Park, Riverdale, Midlothian, Glenwood, and Homewood assisted Harvey firefighters with a fire that fully-involved the shopping center.
Firefighters from Chicago brought a high-expansion foam truck, but it was not confirmed that it was used.
The fire was elevated to a 3-11 or 3rd alarm.
The extra-alarm fire was struck out at 7:06 pm but firefighters reported they will be working at the scene for a considerable amount of additional time.
No confirmation on injuries … developing.
