Des Plaines police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:50 PM Saturday to a report that a person fell from a sixth-story window at a condominium building, 711 S River Road Des Plaines, Il.
Police arrived on the scene first, and discovered that a 5-year old boy had fallen from the window onto a mulched area at the rear of the building.
The boy lives in the condo/apartment building with his parents, and the window was located at the parents’ unit, according to a Des Plaines police news release.
The boy was conscious and breathing when police and firefighters arrived. He was transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Extra paramedics accompanied the boy on his ambulance trip to the hospital.
The 5-year-old boy remained hospitalized Saturday, but the extent of his injuries were not released.
Des Plaines police are investigating the fall with personal injury incident.
