Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded about 11:00 PM Saturday May 14, 2016 to a house in the 39300 block of North Lake Avenue, Unincorporated Lake Villa, for a report of five people overdosing on an unknown substance. When deputies arrived, they located five adults who appeared to be suffering from an overdose.
Lake Villa firefighter/paramedics responded with three ambulances and a battalion chief. Two patients were found to be unconscious and unresponsive. Sheriff’s deputies administered a dose of the opioid antagonist Naloxone to both of the unresponsive subjects. Upon receiving the Naloxone, both responded and regained consciousness.
The other three individuals were conscious, but incoherent. All five were transported via ambulance to an area hospital, where they are expected to survive the apparent overdoses.
Evidence was located at the scene consistent with drug use. Lake County Sheriff’s Detectives responded to the scene and are investigating the incident.
