Two Prince George’s County firefighters were shot while responding about 7:30 p.m. ET to a medical call in the 5000 block of Sharon Road, Temple Hills, Maryland. A civilian was also shot at the scene. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a 911 call from a “concerned individual” who was worried about the resident of a home in the 5000 block of Sharon Road in Temple Hills in Prince George’s County, Stawinski said.

Firefighters tried to communicate with the resident, but there was no response. When firefighters enter the home, the resident fired “a number of rounds” that hit the two firefighters and the person who called 911.

Initially the scene was reported to have developed into a barricaded suspect incident Friday night; however, the suspect is now in custody.

The firefighters were airlifted to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment. One of the firefighters was listed in critical condition.
