Police in the Prince death investigation have interviewed a lawyer who repped two of the singer’s siblings who claimed Prince abused Percocet and cocaine and they feared he’d “die young.”
Serious “kill the messenger” response from Prince fans, who are calling TMZ scumbags for “unethical reporting” and are urging TMZ to wait for the autopsy result and toxicology results.
TMZ reported Wednesday that multiple sources connected with family of Prince told them that doctors prescribed the powerful painkiller in 2009 when he was suffering from hip problems. TMZ was told he had corrective surgery sometime around 2010, but he was addicted to the drug. Sources told TMZ that Prince developed a sometimes debilitating dependence on Percocet in the years that followed.
TMZ reported that Tuesday that attorney Mike Padden, who repped Prince’s half sister Lorna and stepbrother Duane in the early 2000s, told TMZ that both Lorna and Duane separately told him Prince regularly abused the drugs Percocet and Cocaine.
Padden was interviewed last weekend by police working on the Prince death investigation.
