THE 10-MILE ZONE
Chicago police, firefighters and paramedics responded about 1:00 p.m. Monday after a teen was shot and killed near the Taco Burrito King restaurant at Higgins Road and Harlem Avenue in Chicago’s Norwood Park neighborhood.
Chicago Fire Department Ambulance 2’s crew transported a 17-year-old male in traumatic cardiac arrest to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital about 1:25 p.m.
The 17-year-old male was found shot in the parking lot of Taco Burrito King in the 5509 North Harlem Avenue about 1:00 p.m. The parking lot is located near the Harlem Blue Line stop.
Chicago police are searching for two suspects in the homicide shooting. Police believe the two men stole the victim’s car and fled to Interstate 90.
Harlem Avenue and Higgins Road is less than 10 miles from the far south side of Arlington Heights.
