At least 102 people have died and more than 200 were injured after celebratory fireworks reportedly caused a massive blast and fire at a Hindu temple located in a coastal town near Kollam in the southern Indian state of Kerala.
At least 110 persons were killed and over 350 injured after a fire broke out at the Paravur Puttingal Devi temple about 3:30 a.m Sunday, April 10, 2016. The fireworks ceremony was held as part of the annual festival of the temple, near Kollam.
The organizers of the festival and the contractors providing the fireworks display are under investigation.
