Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:32 PM Friday to a report of a vehicle in a lake at Experian, 955 American Lane Schaumburg, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that vehicle was floating in the pond. Police and firefighters arrived to discover a white SUV floating in the pond in front of Experian just south of the curve on American Lane.
The pond is also located west of the Schaumburg heliport.
The address was additionally reported as the Punch Bowl Social Club at 1100 American Lane, but the scene was located just west of the club.
The driver of the SUV was apparently not injured — not officially confirmed.
Firefighters on arrival reported the driver was out of the water. Divers continued to work to confirm the driver’s claim that the driver was the only person in the vehicle. Divers are also possibly working to secure the vehicle and prepare it for towing recovery.
A second ambulance was called to the scene about 11:11 p.m. for EMS standby for the safety of the divers.
