Former President Bill Clinton argued in favor of his crime bill that included assault weapons ban, money for inner city kids for out of school programs, 110,000 police officers on the street and “not in these military vehicles and the police would look like the people there were policing” … “we did all of that,” Clinton said. He argued the result of the crime bill there was a 25-year low in crime, a 33-year low murder rate, and because of the background check law there was a 46-year low rate in gun deaths.
