CBS News journalist Sopan Deb was taken down to the ground and handcuffed while shooting video of the events at the Chicago UIC Pavilion Trump rally, and charged with resisting arrest, according to CBS News.
Two videos show the arrest — one by Deb himself, and another from a separate news crew.
Deb says he identified himself to police as a credentialed journalist covering the rally. Deb was placed in a police van.
Sopan Deb has been covering Trump’s campaign since it began last summer, CBS said.
Deb said an officer put his boot on his neck to hold him down. Deb became separated from his camera which was temporarily left on the ground. Police later returned the camera to Deb.
Deb’s Twitter account lists him as a person chasing Trump on the campaign trail, a standup comic, NBA junkie, and pianist.
