Tampa police are searching for a group of brazen burglars who broke into a car dealership early Friday and stole eight cars. CBSN’s Jamie Yuccas reports.
The Tampa Police Department is investigating surveillance video of about ten thieves stealing eight cars from local car dealership Prespa Auto Sales during early morning hours Friday, March 25, 2016.
Police say two of the suspects forcibly entered the dealership office and located a box containing keys to the cars in the dealership lot.
The suspects sifted through the keys and distributed keys to accomplices waiting in the parking lot. The suspects spread out to their key-matched vehicles, entered the vehicles, and headed for the exit — crashing the gate and some other cars in the process. Fourteen vehicles were damaged as the suspects fled from the lot.

At least two of the stolen vehicles — a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup and a 2005 BMW — were recovered initially.
Police are asking car dealers to take precautions by increasing the lighting on the lots, locking all car doors, and removing the keys from the property, or increasing the security of the keys on the property.
The suspects may be linked to a crime group based out of the Orlando area, police said. Orlando police and Tampa police are working together to investigate the crime.
