VIDEO (Warning loud tones on video): Car crash into detached garage and the path from Ridge Avenue to the impact point.
Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:47 PM Wednesday to a report of an accident with injuries 506 West Eastman Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a female was injured in a crash.
Apparently the brakes on a sedan failed while the vehicle was headed northbound on Ridge Avenue just south of the Union Pacific/Metra railroad tracks.
The driver veered to the right up on the parkway between a tree and a fire hydrant, and then headed east through the parking lot. The car then crashed into the wall of a detached garage that is used to store garbage dumpsters.
The building department was called to the scene for inspection, and a safety perimeter was set up with yellow tape.
