Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:09 PM Wednesday March 16, 2016 to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle near Park Street and Mitchell Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a 9-year-old boy was hit by a car.
The boy was leaving Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 434 West Park Street, when he was hit by a vehicle driven southbound on Mitchell Avenue, according to police.
The boy was transported by Arlington Heights Fire Department firefighter/paramedics to Northwest Community Hospital. He was alert and conscious and was not believed to have life-threatening injuries.
Police reported that the boy ran out into the street while obscured by a parked car. The location where the boy entered the street was also not at the intersection crosswalk.
The boy’s family was with him when the accident happened.
No citations or charges are expected for the female driver of the vehicle that hit the child.
