Bell UH-1V “Huey” helicopter flying over Arlington Heights earlier this year.
An AIR-ONE Bell UH-1V “Huey” helicopter flew northeast over central Arlington Heights about 5:15 p.m. Thursday.
It’s unknown what the helicopter type of work was underway, but the helicopter appeared to be heading for Chicago Executive Airport. There was a helicopter involved in a police pursuit that ended in Park Ridge earlier today with all suspects in custody, but it is not known if the AIR-ONE helicopter was involved in that assignment.
On approach, the AIR-ONE Bell UH-1V “Huey” helicopter is very loud, but the noise decreases as soon as the helicopter passes overhead.
According to the AIR-ONE website, the mission of AIR-ONE is to provide emergency response, search and rescue, assessment capabilities and capability coordinative air support to SPA when lives and property are at risk or where an “articulable” reason exists to believe that lives and property are potentially at risk.
