TONIGHT: Snow, heaviest ending by 10pm. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 28. Windy, with a north northwest wind 25 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible, bur unlikely after midnight. TOTAL SNOWFALL for Arlington Heights from Wednesday to 4 am Thursday forecast at 2.5 inches.

COOK COUNTIES…RANGING TO POSSIBLY AS LITTLE AS 1 TO 4 INCHES
FAR NORTHWEST WILL AND NORTHWEST COOK COUNTIES. ISOLATED TOTALS
NEAR A FOOT ARE POSSIBLE NEAR THE INDIANA BORDER.
* MAIN IMPACT…STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS WILL GUST 40 TO 50 MPH AT
TIMES…WITH THE HIGHEST WINDS NEAR THE LAKE SHORE. WHERE HEAVY
SNOW OCCURS…THIS WILL CREATE A WIND WHIPPED SNOW THAT WILL
REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO NEAR ZERO MAKING TRAVEL DANGEROUS…IF
NOT NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE AT THE HEIGHT OF THE STORM…INCLUDING THE
LATE AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING COMMUTE. NON EMERGENCY TRAVEL
SHOULD BE AVOIDED.

* LAKE SHORE FLOODING…STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS GUSTING TO 50 MPH
WILL ALLOW WAVES TO BUILD TO 10 TO 14 FEET ACROSS THE NORTHEAST
ILLINOIS SHORES OF LAKE MICHIGAN RESULTING IN MINOR LAKESHORE
FLOODING AND BEACH EROSION.
* TIMING…HIGHEST WAVES TONIGHT.
* IMPACTS…HIGH WAVES AND ONSHORE FLOW WILL RESULT IN SOME
BEACH EROSION AND MINOR FLOODING ALONG THE LAKESHORE. THE HIGH
