Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:44 AM Friday to Plum Grove Road and Slade Street Palatine, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report from Union Pacific that a Metra train hit a car, but believed that the car was only clipped.
First firefighters on the scene reported that a train was stopped and reported that the car passed the crossing. The firefighter report did not indicate whether the incident involved a freight train or a passenger train.
Firefighter/paramedics reported the driver denied any injuries at this time.
Extra fire companies were returned.
