Chicago police are seeking the public’s help in finding a possible important witness to a number of crimes committed near the Chicago Museum Campus in December 2015 and January 2016. Police have released security photos of the man they believe witnessed several crimes, including assault and theft.
“Police are seeking to question the unidentified subject believed to have witnessed multiple misdemeanor incidents that took place in the vicinity of the 1400 Block of Museum Campus Drive,” states the alert issued by police Wednesday.
Police listed incidents that took place between Dec. 26 and Dec. 31, according to a police crime database:
• Criminal damage to a vehicle about 2 p.m. on Dec. 26 at a garage in the 2200 block of South King Drive.
• An assault about 3:10 p.m. Dec. 26 in the 200 block of East 25th Street.
• A pickpocket incident about 6 p.m. Dec. 28 in the 1200 block of South Lake Shore Drive that also involved deceptive practices and credit card fraud.
• A theft about 4 p.m. Dec. 31 at a hotel in the 2200 block of King Drive.
Police are seeking assistance from the public for the man, who was described as a male in his 20s to 30s, 6’1″ to 6’4″ and weighing about 170 LBS. He has long black hair, facial hair, and what might be a scar or birthmark on the right side of his face, according to Chicago police.
In the security photos, the man is wearing a gray cloth coat, black gloves or mittens, a black shirt or sweater and dark pants, and appears to have a pompadour-style haircut.
