Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:53 AM Monday to a report of crash with injuries at Dundee Road and Northwest Highway Palatine, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a vehicle crashed into a pole. Palatine police arrived first and may have discovered the crash in the westbound lanes of Dundee Road.
The first Palatine Fire Department crew arrived on the scene at 1:59 a.m. and reported a single-vehicle crash with major damage, possibly with a rollover, and one person trapped in the vehicle. The call was immediately upgraded to an entrapment response.
Paramedics transported one patient to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital by about 2:35 am. A total of 11 firefighters working on crews from one engine company, Tower Ladder 85, Squad 85 and Ambulance 84 and Ambulance 82 were under command of Palatine’s Battalion Chief during the rescue operation.
The crash is under investigation by the Palatine Police Department. The Major Case Assistance Team is also investigating the crash.
