Astana complex “Abu Dhabi Plaza” on fire.
Abu Dhabi Plaza burned Saturday while the project was under construction. The first loud explosion was heard about 5:00 a.m. Saturday (2300 GMT Friday). The highrise has been under construction since 2010 and was planned for completion in 2016 with a height of over 115 feet.
Upon completion with 80 stories, Abu Dhabi Plaza would become the highest building in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
Initially, no injuries were reported.
