Authorities say no one was injured when a garbage truck fueled by natural gas exploded “like a missile” in Hamilton, New Jersey. Tuesday’s blast in Hamilton damaged four homes.
Two garbage truck operators escaped the truck when the cab started filling with smoke, and before the truck fueled by compressed natural gas (CNG) exploded. One of the four CNG tanks exploded in the truck.
Four homes near the explosion were damaged. Damage included broken windows, melted siding, and debris that embedded and went through the roof of at least one home.
