United Airlines Boeing 737 Slides Into Snowy Grass At O’Hare International Airport, Chicago — 185 Aboard

Chicago firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:15 PM Friday to a report of an aircraft that slid off of a runway or taxiway at O’Hare International Airport Chicago, IL. Firefighters on the scene reported the nose gear slid into the grass with 185 passengers and crew on board.

Initially there are no injuries reported. Runway 9L/27R near the incident is closed down. The aircraft, believed to be a United Airlines Boeing 737-924ER remained powered up, but firefighters expected passengers would deplane at the incident site.

Passengers are expected to be deplaning and transferring to buses on the airfield at O’Hare.

The aircraft is expected to be towed to a secure area after the passengers deplane.
