A Falcon FA20 twin-engine jet aircraft slid into a crushable concrete barrier past the end of the runway after landing at the airport at Palatine Road and Milwaukee Avenue.
The concrete barrier prevented the aircraft from continuing onto Palatine Road after sliding past the end of the runway.
The aircraft is reported to have been operated by Kalitta Charters based out of Ypsilanti, Michigan. According to the official website for Kalitta, the aircraft highlights include …
Two crew (captain and co-pilot)
Cruising speed of 500 miles per hour
Maximum cruising altitude 42,000 feet
Maximum range of 2,200 miles
Seating for nine passengers
Following two passenger jets sliding off the same runway at O’Hare International Airport, this is the third type of incident in about a month at Chicago area airports.
