EB Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) Shut Down While Police Investigate Crash and Shots Fired Near Lavergne Ave, Chicago

Chicago police and firefighter/paramedics and Illinois State Police responded about 10:45 PM Monday to a report of a crash with injuries at on I-290 at Lavergne Ave Chicago, Il. Police were on the scene with a crash and a report of shots fired toward the expressway. A crash was up against a wall on the eastbound side of the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290). Police received a report that suspects might have fled in a hit-and-run crash, and also might have fled by jumping of the train platform of the Blue Line tracks, just west of Cicero Avenue. Police are investigating.

Eastbound I-290 is being shut down at Lavergne Avenue while police investigate the lanes toward Cicero Avenue.

Illinois State Police are on the scene with Chicago police, Chicago firefighters and IDOT.
