Darien Police Department and Darien-Woodridge Fire Protection District firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:45 PM Thursday to a report of a shooting incident at Walmart, 2189 75th Street Darien, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that one person was shot inside the Walmart. Police locked down the store and were searching for a shooter. Initially police believed there was one shooter, but later police may have been searching for two suspects. One of the suspects was described as a male/black with dreadlocks.
The shooting victim was transported with non-life-threatening injuries.

DuPage County Sheriff and Willowbrook police are assisting Darien police officers, and a Major Crimes Task Force was request to respond to the scene.
A police vehicle was also involved in a crash about 6:20 p.m. at Lemont Road and 75th Street, which is about one mile west of the Walmart store.
Police and Darien-Woodridge firefighters at 2:58 p.m. were working on a body recovery from a retention pond near 75th Street and Woodward Avenue about two miles west of Walmart. No known connection currently exists between the incidents.
