VIDEO: Firefighter/paramedics rescue driver of rolled over minivan with live light pole wiring nearby near Route 53 and Palatine Road near Palatine and Arlington Heights.
Illinois State Police and Palatine firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:40 AM Sunday to a report of rollover crash with injuries at 42.108294, -88.002906 (Route 53 And Palatine Rd Arlington Heights, IL). Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a vehicle was rolled over on the ramp and a light pole was down on the ramp from northbound Route 53 to eastbound Palatine Road.
One young adult male driver remained in a minivan, but was able to get out of the vehicle on his own power with help of firefighter/paramedics.
Crews on the scene helped the driver climb out a door opening, after making sure that live wires from a downed light pole did not endanger the driver.
The driver was not transported to the hospital by paramedics.
Rolling Meadows firefighter/paramedics also responded to the scene.
ComEd responded immediately to cut the live power lines that were exposed at the base of light pole.
