Former FBI Agent Manny Gomez on demonstrators in Chicago demanding Mayor Rahm Emmanuel’s resignation.
Mayor Rahm Emmanuel’s speech today included an apology and an outline of his plan to restore trust between the community and police. However, hundreds of protesters marched today carrying signs calling for his resignation.
The U.S. Department of Justice’s is investigating the Chicago Police Department, and some city aldermen are also calling for a DOJ investigation of the mayor’s office.
Chicagoans from across the city walk out of work and school and converge on Daily Plaza at noon to demand the resignation of the Mayor and State’s Attorney.
