An eyewitness describes the scene on the Las Vegas strip when a car plowed into a crowd of people.
At least 20 people are reported injured as pedestrians were hit by a vehicle that drove onto a sidewalk near the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The crash took place on Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon in front of the Paris Hotel & Casino and Planet Hollywood. The Miss Universe Pageant was held Sunday night at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood.
A witness described a Buick or Oldsmobile type car that was tan or silver just started to mow people down. Witness Justin Cochrane believed the driver intentionally drove through people. Cochrane said people were chasing after the car.
Las Vegas Police say they are investigating Sunday night’s crash as a possibly intentional act, but terrorism was ruled out. A car hit several dozen people in front of two busy hotels. At least one person died. More than 30 were hurt.
12 victims were transported to Sunrise hospital.
11 victims were transported to University Medical Center (UMC).
3 victims were transported to Spring Valley Hospital.
6 victims/patients were critically injured, and one victim was killed.
Initial investigation shows that there were two area where pedestrians were hit coinciding with two area where the vehicle was on the roadway and came up onto the sidewalk between the Paris and Bally’s.
The two locations were a sidewalk area just before the driveway that leads into the Paris Hotel in front of Planet Hollywood and in front of the Paris Hotel.
