Good news for Arlington Heights, and all Illinois Target stores. No Illinois Target stores are planned for closure in a second round of closures in less than one year. Target is closing underperforming stores. The earlier closures almost one year ago involved all 133 store operations in Canada. Minnesota-based Target decided the Canadian operations were not profitable.
Round 2 store closures are all in the United States.
Target confirmed today that it would close the following 13 stores:
• Austin North East in Austin, TX
• Suncoast Pasco County in Odessa, FL
• Casa Grande, AZ
• Victorville, CA
• East Flint in Flint, MI
• Columbus Southwest in Columbus, OH
• Springfield, OH
• Northridge in Milwaukee, WI
• Superior, WI
• New Ulm, MN
• Ottumwa, IA
• Anderson, IN
• Dixie Highway in Louisville, KY
Employees at the stores are being offered the option to transfer to another location.
