TODAY SUNRISE: 6:38 AM SUNSET: 4:33 PM
Chicagoland weather radar shows storms developing ahead of a large band of storms that just crossed the Mississippi River about 6:45 p.m. A storm cell is tracking to arrive over Arlington Heights by about 7:45 p.m.
The larger band is at least two hours away and is likely to pass through the area about 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Although more storms could develop ahead of the larger band.
There is a risk of a tornado in northern Illinois, but the risk appears to be less in the region east of Interstate 39 by Rockford.
