A police anti-terror raid is underway in the north Paris suburb of Saint-Denis, Wednesday.
Heavy gunshots were heard in the area earlier in the night, with shooting reportedly ceasing at approximately 4:45 CET.
Five terror suspects were arrested and two terror suspects were killed pre-dawn Wednesday morning. A female terrorist wearing a suicide vest blew herself up after police launched a raid targeting the alleged mastermind of last Friday’s massacre in Paris.
At least four police officers were injured during the raid. A 7-year-old Belgian Malinois police dog named “Diesel” was killed during the confrontation.
Abdelhamid Abaaoud, a 27-year-old Belgian ISIS militant, was believed to be inside the apartment with five other heavily armed people. Police stormed the apartment building and were met with unexpected violent resistance.
