Protesters are marching, especially down Michigan Avenue, after a dashcam video was released Tuesday showing the October 20th, 2014 shooting of Laquan McDonald by Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke.
Detectives, tactical teams and other officers in the city who normally wear civilian clothing were ordered to wear uniforms through Nov. 29, 2015 in anticipation of a busy night managing protest marches resulting from the video release. Police officers trained for riot control have been ordered to have their riot gear ready, if needed.
