House Fire Follows Explosion in Basement on Blue Court Near Crystal Lake Ave, Crystal Lake

Crystal Lake police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:33 AM Tuesday to a report of a house fire at 6015 Blue Court, Crystal Lake, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that flames were coming from the house and that an explosion from an unknown cause occurred in the basement.

Some fire vehicles were stopped by a train while en route to the fire.

First crew on arrival reported they’re on the scene with a fully-involved house fire with all residents evacuated. Firefighters initially fought the fire with a defensive attack.

Paramedics possibly evaluated and treated at least one patient.

The fire department response was upgraded to a Box Alarm to the Second Level at about 6:45 a.m. and to the Third Level at about 6:53 a.m.

The fire was declared under control about 7:27 a.m. and the Box Alarm was struck out at 7:27 a.m.
