During the month of October 2015, the Schaumburg Police Department will be offering an opportunity for those with delinquent parking and municipal ticket fines to settle their accounts at a reduced payment. For outstanding parking and municipal violations that have reached final determination, with the exception of handicap parking violations, the final determination late fee will be waived during the amnesty period. In most cases, this will result in a 50% reduction in the payment amount due.
After this opportunity expires, vehicle owners will be responsible to pay all fines and fees in full.
For those with at least three outstanding and delinquent parking violations, the cited vehicle will remain eligible for immobilization with a “Denver Boot.” Those receiving ten unpaid parking violation notices will have their driver’s license suspended through the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office.
Unpaid municipal tickets will remain in the collection process.
