Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:22 PM Saturday to a report of a pedestrian hit by a car at Northwest Highway and Vail Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a pedestrian was lying in the intersection after being hit by a vehicle.
The driver and vehicle were on the scene, but no update was available about the condition of the pedestrian.
The windshield of the car was shattered during the impact with the pedestrian.
There was a group of people that got off the train, and one of the members of the group was hit by the vehicle in the intersection.
There was a police presence west of this scene at Christian Liberty Academy for a possible protest demonstration about the same time period. Christian Liberty Academy had a dinner banquet event Saturday evening for AFTAH (Americans For Truth About Homosexuality) which has annually brought protesters by train from the Chicago-based Gay Liberation Network and other groups the past few years. This year no protesters were present at the event, but police were standing by at Christian Liberty Academy in case of a demonstration.
