Microsoft is doubling down on its Surface devices business, unveiling a new laptop Tuesday alongside an updated tablet.
Microsoft unveiled the Surface Book with Windows 10 on October 6, 2015.
The Surface Book features a keyboard dock with a “dynamic fulcrum hinge” that expands as it is folded open, a secondary battery and GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) that are used while docked.

Microsoft devices executive Panos Panay also unveiled the Surface Pro 4 — the latest generation of the Surface tablet. Panay claimed the Surface Book is twice as fast as the MacBook Pro, and the Surface Pro 4 is 50 percent faster than the MacBook Air. The Surface Pro 4 starts at $899. Delivery date for the Surface Pro 4 is also October 26, 2015.
Microsoft also introduced the Lumia 950 and 950 XL smartphones with 5.2 inch and 5.7 inch screens. The smartphones operate with a full version of Windows 10 can function as a PC when connected with a cable adapter to a monitor.
The smartphones come with a high-end camera — similar or the same as is equipped with Nokia phones. Microsoft bought the Nokia smartphone business in 2014 for $7.6 billion.
Both phones will be available in November.
