Spencer Stone, one of the three Americans who thwarted a gunman on a European train, was stabbed outside a bar in California. KOVR Reporter Sean Bennett has details for CBSN.
Sacramento police responded about 12:46 a.m. Thursday to the 2100 block of K Street where they found Stone with multiple stab wounds in his torso. Police initially thought he would not survive the stabbing. Air Force Times reports that Stone was stabbed four times in the chest.
Early unconfirmed reports stated that Spencer Stone was coming to aid of another person when he was attacked and held down by as many as five or six offenders. The attack was captured on security video.
Sacramento police reported the incident on their official Twitter account: “The assault incident is not related to a terrorist act. Assault occurred near a bar, alcohol is believed to be a factor.”

Friday morning Sacramento police announced they had made no arrests, but initially did not release any description of possible suspect(s).
Today police report that the suspects are described as two male Asian offenders.
