Apple unveiled their newest iMac computers, complete with 4K Retina display, even at the low end, and accessories with rechargeable batteries. Ed Baig reviews.
Apple’s latest iMac models look the same, but the new 21.5-inch iMacs (starting at $1499) have a Retina 4K display and the new 27-inch iMacs (starting at $1799) have a Retina 5K display, which uses up more processor speed.
The wireless keyboard is smaller with larger keys, thanks to a new non-removable rechargeable battery that has replaced two AA batteries. The keyboard charges with the same lightning cable that is used to charge iPhones and iPads. The AA batteries have also been eliminated in the new mouse and new trackpad — replaced by a non-removable rechargeable battery.
Apple calls the new accessories Apple Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Trackpad 2.
An iMac 21.5-inch is still available without the Retina 4K — starting at $1099.
