Cook County Sheriff’s police and Rolling Meadows firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:04 PM Sunday, September 13, 2015 to a medical emergency from a bee sting to an address in unincorporated Palatine, IL. A former Palatine chef, Guy Jacobucci, died Sunday evening at Northwest Community Hospital after a severe allergic reaction to a bee sting at his home. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a 9-1-1 call from the victim that he was having an allergic reaction to a bee sting. The man was immediately experiencing tingling in his lips with swelling of his tongue and throat.
Jacobucci was rushed to Northwest Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:22 p.m.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office autopsy report ruled that Jacobucci’s death was accidental — a result of anaphylactic shock in reaction to a bee sting.
